What Fearful Shadows is a contemporary art exhibition that reimagines iconic elements of early American horror—The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, the Salem Witch Trials, and the works of Edgar Allan Poe—through the lens of modern culture. Featuring original works that range from illustrative to interpretive, this exhibition invites artists to explore themes like paranoia, identity, outsiderhood, and societal fear. These foundational stories continue to shape horror culture today, making this exhibition a hauntingly relevant reflection of America’s past and present. Visitors will experience a fusion of folklore, history, and psychological depth.
