This 24-inch tall bronze is derived from a Utah Calcite stone sculpture that was 19 inches tall in a classic T Barny superellipsoid form. The original carved sculpture was Laser Scanned and 3D printed in Polylactic Acid; a biodegradable and bioactive thermoplastic derived from renewable sources such as corn starch, cassava roots, chips or starch or sugarcane. Surrounded by Ceramic Shell, this print was directly cast by pouring in hot bronze, “Burning Out” or Vaporizing the PLA.
