Diaphanes is carved from Moroccan Selenite, a crystalized form of gypsum. Its fluorescent pearly luster comes from its fibrous elongated intersecting cleaves which makes it one of the most difficult stones to carve. Dider Eribon wrote that “A Diaphane is a person so perfect that his simple presence would do more for the world than others”.
