Painting - Watercolor, Oils, Mixed Media
Works on canvas or paper
Carol Taylor has spent the last 25 years living in the mountains of the West, and now lives in Orange County, California. Carol has continued her watercolor studies, and has completed the BA in Fine Art at UCI, and the MA in Fine Art at Academy of Art University, San Francisco. She is a Signature Member of the Southern Arizona Watercolor Guild (SAWG), Member of Laguna Plein Air Painters, Southern California Plein Air Painters, and California Watercolor Association.
Carol began purchasing watercolors and brushes long before she ever learned to use them. Deep within her soul was a desire to paint. She began her watercolor lessons in 2001 as a response to an ad in the local Montana newspaper for "Beginning Adult Ongoing Watercolor Classes". She found these classes motivating, and her urge to paint has continued. She has attended watercolor classes at Goldenwest and Coastline Community College, in Huntington Beach, California, and again, adult watercolor and drawing classes in Tucson. Attending watermedia workshops with noted artists has motivated her and sparked her creativity. Watercolor classes have always been a positive source to continue painting, and to continue to grow as a watercolor artist. She is deeply appreciative to all the friends and artists who have given her phrases of praise as that "keeps me painting." "I enjoy working with watercolor as a medium because it is fun, physical, and, unpredictable!" "I enjoy the challenge of creative expression, and, everyday is an opportunity for new growth."
