I specialize in color and art philosophy. I teach students and professional artists how to find their artistic purpose and how to know the true meaning of art and how to discover the artist they are to be. many of our students have completed masters projects and have exhibited at the Palm Springs museum.
What my art IS, and is NOT about.
My Art is not Personal, it is not about my own psycho-emotional state or feelings.
Also my work is not about contemporary social and political issues in the world of temporal experience. I do not seek to move the viewer to a reaction of either revulsion or desire concerning matters and experiences of our daily existence.
My Art is about creating ( trans-expressionist ) abstract paintings of mythic imagery that speak to our time. It is the creation of visual metaphors that bring echos of perennial truths forward in to our contemporary consciousness. It is to render visible the unseen, the underlying meaning and purpose of humanity as revealed in the elementary myths, and confirmed by the new tools of knowledge, science and perception.
It is to take that which is archetypal and sacred in our shared humanity and bring its essence forward. It is to align humanity with its meaning in the continuum of life as informed by universal intent.
My art is about allowing perception to ascend between the pairs of opposites, space, and time in the field of duality, and to bring the viewer to the still point of aesthetic arrest, where the inner and outer worlds meet. Where we can transcend the temporal experience and glimpse a higher consciousness that informs all life.
Addendum.
As my work has always been in abstract form of expression consistent with the above statement. I have simultaneously created a body of work that I call “ FACES ” these paintings are not a departure from my ideas in art but rather a study at the other end of the spectrum of human consciousness or the failure there of.
These “FACES ”are not intended as portraits of individuals but rather studies
of how experiences of a life lived in lower consciousness have marked those faces.
These are the human faces that unite the personal sufferer with the universal.
I do not bring personal judgement, but merely record the results as a silent
witness of the forces that shape those “FACES ” in the world.
Bio
Leo Fuchs has continued to create, exhibit, and teach art for many decades.
Leo has exhibited throughout California, and other regions in group and solo shows.
As an instructor he has taught at major art and design colleges. Leo is also known for his public lectures on “ The True Meaning of Art. ” ; “ Designing your Future ” and “ Evolution of Human Creative Intelligence ” to mention a few. Leo Fuchs has also appeared on numerous radio and television shows, and has many articles about art, art philosophy, creative education, and the future of humanity.
