Mixed Media, Oil and Water Based Materials
"From my childhood, drawing over and outside the coloring book lines, and exploring color
relationships and texture continues to be an influence in my art today. Incorporating
drawing, color play and mixed media into my work creates that depth of texture I loved as
a child."
Virginia was born in Preston, Idaho and grew up in Southern California coastal region. She
attended California State University at Long Beach. Prior to that she attended various local colleges and universities with a focus on drawing, painting, graphics and printmaking. Subsequently refining her own visual and conceptual vocabulary that emerged through her interest with shape, texture and color relationships.
While attending school Virginia worked in the graphic and print industry for various local newspaper and magazine publications. Later she became self-employed in the graphics industry that evolved in to an online website services business.
Presently Virginia lives in Tucson, Arizona where she continues to integrate and explore playful and interesting textures she loved as a child.
